Not sure if im in the right forum but really need some help please.
I've recently installed 10.4.8 Tiger onto my G5 but ever since I get 2 or 3 kernel panics a day or photoshop crashes when attempting to save files (meaning I lose any work I've done on them).
Anyone know why this may be happening?
Thanks

The most likely reason for a kernel panic is either a driver problem or bad hardware - especially RAM problems.
Have you got any unusual hardware plugged into it?
Do you have more than 1 RAM stick? If you do, try pulling one out. If it still crashes, pull the other one out and put the first one back in. If it works with one RAM stick but not the other, you've found the problem.
Oh, should add: the photoshop problem makes it sound much more likely it's bad RAM.

do you have the hardware test cd/dvd that came with your machine? might not be a bad idea to run it as well. the directions are on the disc, but you can just put it in, reboot and hold down "c". the run all the tests. caution -- it'll take awhile.
