Anyone know if the CS2 upgrade will be available to purchase from Adobe after they release CS3? I still have CS and it is MUCH cheaper to upgrade to CS2 and then upgrade again to CS3 than to just purchase CS3.
by the way... CS3's website (http://www.adobe.com/creativelicense/?trackingid=RUUT&pss=dw_8.0.2_win_en_full__WP_20040226) is pretty cool

I'm not sure, but I'd imagine the eBay listings and other places would still be available (and thus, much cheaper).
The CS3 site is pretty snazzy. I just want to know about a PC to Mac exchange program.

if you have an Intel Mac I definitely wouldn't recommend getting CS2, otherwise, just ignore this post

I just want to know about a PC to Mac exchange program.
I hear ya' there, my 3 year old tablet is looking pretty sad, and I am finally ready to convert, but jeepers I don't wanna buy the suite over again!
I want to be able to upgrade, but have a clean install, but that's not likely is it.

I did the the PC to MAC exchange upgrade thing, but i did it the wrong way and almost had to buy CS2 again... lots of yelling fixed that though.
if your already on a PC and are going to switch to mac, you're suppose to call adobe and tell them you are upgrading to Mac version of CS3 from a PC version. They will make you sign some papers that forfeit your rights to your original PC version.
Once they receive the forms, they will send you a Full Version of CS3 for Mac for the price of an Upgrade.
quite simple as long as you don't do what i did and go out and buy a Mac Upgrade before doing the exchange...

Ack...I suppose I should probably just wait then.

what im saying is, since i have CS (never upgraded to CS2) it would be cheaper to upgrade:
Buy full CS3: $1,799
-or-
Upgrade to CS2: $549 and
Upgrade to CS3: $599
Total: $1,148
$1,148 < $1,799

OMG Silence,
You just made my day!
Clean CS3 install here I come.
(but I would like to keep the CS1 on my tablet still hrmph :( )
It seems to me that if I purchased an upgrade on the same platform, I would still be able to install the previous version too, wouldn't I?
I dunno.
Jacki - You don't need CS2 to jump to CS3
You can upgrade your CS to CS3 for $599

well, after you forfeit your rights to the old one when doing the exchange, they terminate that serial number from their system so you could never activate it again.
And if you still used the one install on the pc, you'd then be using it illegally.
if you purchase a Mac upgrade and are coming from a PC version (like i did) there is no way for you to install it on the mac... it will only install if you put in a disk of a previous mac version, or enter the serial number of a previous mac version to prove you are actually upgrading.
