Hi, Some advice please. If I place an image approx 30cm wide by 20cm High into a 7 x 3 banner created actual size using InDesign and the image is stretched within its picture box to approx 500%, and on screen (InDesign)
i view the banner at 100% am I seeing a clear representation of how the image is going to print?

If your image started at 300 dpi you have to take into consideration that a 500% enlargement will drop that dpi down to 60(approx) have I got that right or is it less?

You're screen resolution is 72dpi, as you're viewing the image at only a fraction under your monitors resolution it probably does look ok, when it goes to print it most likely will not be ok.

Where's PD when you need him. :)

^^ Well, I dunno about PD, but you've got that exactly right - including the maths. Good work ;)

Sleeping.

If you view at actual print size you will get somewhat of a representation of what it will look like. For large format, printing out a piece of the image at final size to an inkjet printer will give you a better idea.

OH. MY. GOD.

PD is totally like The Candyman (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103919/) - you say his name a few times and he magically appears!

Now I totally have to run and hide, because I am *really* scared of bees!

Yay, Gold Star for me.

I never really understood the whole Candyman thing, till my friend made me watch it. I didn't see no Candy in that movie, not a single pancaking Mars Bar! I did not sleep well that night!

Yeah I think there's an answer in there - cheers boys! Lost me on the Candyman connection, but will take your word that it's scary. Wasn't Virginia Madsen in that???

I knew when I saw her in Smith that I recognised her from somewhere. Cheers Rehab.
