I want to know how to do the 3D "supercapacity" card.
All the rest I could pretty much figure out but I have a use for the 3D process....

The edible card??? Would you eat something that's been in your wallet?

I once ate a mint I found in my wallet.

I'd hate to be the recpient of the debt collector services.

"Spoof a famous logo."

Ummm, isn't that bad?

at what point does 'spoofing' become 'copyright infringement'?

Look at the example in there, I would think you could get into trouble for that. That's just me though.

yeah, I wondered about that one too, reuber.

"TedEx"

Isn't there something called pop-art or something?
In this case, I would guess it's copyright infringement, but if one for example makes a picture in the classic Andy Warhol look, even though his style somehow may be copyrighted, it would pass under pop-art?

You can't copyrite a style. If you were to copy a certain painting though, that would get you in trouble.
The TedEx example in probably infringement.

That TedEx is Definetly copyright infringement. You can do that if you were maybe making a parody of them, but in the sense of "replacing" your logo, it is definetly illegal.

A parody isn't meant to be taken as a serious business logo. This one is. Copyright infringement, no question.

That aside though, that was a great article, with wonderful inspirations!

yeah, it did have some inspirational ideas.

Some really fantasic ideas there! Too bad most of our clients are far too cheap to ever go for something so cool. Except for the one for the secondhand shop. That one would be extra cool if you had a second business and you could essentially kill two birds with one stone. ;)

I love the rubber one for the trainer! Such a cool idea. Working at a print company, I only get to design things that we are going to print. And unfortunately, our clients require them to be cheap too.

Are there any other collections of stuff like this out there?

Man you certainly are proud of your blog post. In the last day or so I've seen you post a link to it over here, at both HOWs...:D

But hey, all things said it is a nice compilation of card ideas, minus the plaguerized TedEX, that is. I'd probably edit your post and remove it...wouldn't want to give any impressionable folks the wrong sort of inspiration. Some good stuff in there. I liked the Blank x Book x Makers, m'self.

:)

Whoa partner, back it up. You didn't see me start slinging curses and getting uppity at you, did I? Take a virtual valium and relax.

I thought you were this guy, (http://forum.howdesign.com/fb.aspx?m=261993) who apparently is the author of the link you posted (either that or they're sharing the same avatar). Note the date he posted, a difference of a day. He also posted elsewhere the same day in response to some other related post topic, which led me to believe that you were one and the same.

If it wasn't you, a simple innocent case of mistaken identity. That still doesn't retract anything else I posted, but my bad on the i.d. connection nonetheless.

I found the cards page through StumbleUpon.com.

Yup. They launched a Conference forum (http://forum.howconference.com/) a few months ago. Talk about a depraved bunch, ahahaha. And of course, I've been fitting right in.
