Hi, how’s it going all? Sitting comfortably........good then i'll begin.
About 2-3 years ago I looked into setting up as a freelancer business plan, promo business cards printed up etc. (I was a member on here to!) I was about to turn up the pace on launching but then kinda gave up, it was down to a combination of doubting my own skills, competition and needing more money which forced me in to getting a regular 9-5 office job. Not a bad job but totally unrelated to graphics, I was a property researcher. Anyway the pressure of that job got a lil much so I quit.
I have always kept a slight eye on graphic trends, technology and styles over the last few years and have now decided to get my act together be brave and go again.
I'm launching a little freewebs site soon just to get a few little jobs in for the moment with the bigger aiming of launching a proper full scale portfolio/site in a few months (possibly). Also for the mean time I'm going to apply for some junior graph jobs.
I'm hoping this time round I stick it through and set up fully as a GD as I feel that’s where my heart lies. I feel so annoyed at myself for not keeping it up, who knows where I’d be now. Would’ve had 3 years of graphic designing experience behind me
I have a Multi-media tech degree so I like to think I have learnt a bit about theory and composition. I design business branding i.e. Logos, business cards, flyers. I also want to go on to web design very soon. Although I believe more in my skills now I am desperate to learn what it is that separates mediocre designer from those that you can practically see the pizzazz oozing from their work.
I already know that this forum is a fountain of knowledge and aim to use it as my holy grail.
