Hi people!

This time I bring you "Pet Pet" the skull. I wanted to make him cute and kiddy, that's why no teeth or jaw

I would like to have some feedback on them!
Here we go:

Let me know what you think and if you know a tip or idea to improve, bring it on! I'm always open to suggestion~

Any back story on him? what's he for? Other then that, 2 thing...

1) why does he have a butt on top of his head on the first picture and not the second?

2) does he have any ther expressions other then 'oops, i just pooped'?

good start off :D Also, he is ALOT grayer in the second picture compared to the first. Any reason behind that?

hahaha, yeah, really huh, he has that look on his face :D

Well, actually the first one was the base drawing with that extra butt on his head, but seeing that afterwards it looks a little bit strange don't you think?

For the colours, well, it's a test to see how he looks like with some extra colours. Nothing fancy tho.

The purpose I want to use him for is t-shirts, I have another thread here somewhere where I explained that I want to make a couple of designs for children between 0~8 years old.

Aaah, still a lot of work to do haha, but yep, I think so too, good start off! Thanks a lot!

The nose should be an upside down heart. It's more accurate and a heart is still very cute.

Thanks for the feedback! much appreciated~

Lula: well, I think that's why it's called an update, right :p

Budafist: Aah, but wouldn't that be cliché? True, it is cute, but overdone I guess..

D-frag: I think uni-nose is nice tho, make it simple. And also, if you look at other cartoon/kiddy skulls, you'd see what? yep yep, a lot of creations with 1 nose-hole

Nose issue:

I don't think it's cliché because it's realistic and relevant...See (http://wichita.kumc.edu/support/lab/images/human_skull.jpg)?

Is having 2 eyes cliché?

2 holes is fun, but faces have 2 holes, not skulls.

ho ho ho, I think we're crossing paths I guess...

I was talking about the reversed heart you mentioned about, think that is cliché.

I couldn't agree more if it should be anatomcly correct, but in this case it isn't the issue~

ah, but thanks for the info

looking at the skull again it looks like his nose is actually his mouth and he is in a perminent state of surprise. I think that the teeth and jaw could look cute depending on how you draw them. Its a great illustration though...
If your aiming this at kids, you have to be aware that it will be the parents that have the cash - you may need to appeal to them as well.
What other ideas do you have apart from the skull and cross pencils, is there a theme, will this guy be doing different things, can his expression change with out a mouth?

Personally, I am more partial to the first one. I like the glowing within the eyes. On the second one I think the over detailed pencils take away from the main guy, which is infact what you are supposed to concentrate on.

And it doesn't look like a nose to me at all, it really does look like a mouth.

2nd one is good for what it is, but I'm really getting sick of this style of illustration.
