Without saying too much and spoiling anything, oh vey...what a mess. The movie wasn't terrible by any means and kept me amused well enough, but I'm wondering if the Matrix sequels set some sort of rule that any movie sequels coming back to back with one another has to have a really confusing plot. Seems like everyone was screwing over everyone in that movie and I gave up trying to figure out who was doing what to who. I'm actually hitting up Wikipedia right now hoping someone created a synopsis that makes sense of a lot of things.
But anyway, a note to anyone seeing it regardless, stay after the credits finish rolling, extra scene.

I agree on this. The plot was so convoluted at times that I wondered what in the hell was going on half of the time.

I can see why people are saying this, but I really had fun and enjoyed it.

weaving through the plot was about as difficult as circumnavigating the globe in a 12 ft sailboat.Pearing out all of the non-essential plot items you have a good movie. They introduced a lot of lore that really made very little sense, and then they force fed you some items that basically said "This is the fact, now deal with it"
I enjoyed the movie though, they deliver some very nice scenes and some abstract elements that make you think. My recommendation is go and see it if you liked the first couple movies, it's a decent conclusion and the main plot pieces are all there as expected, you'll definately be entertained.

My daughter went and saw it and pretty much gave the same review - confusing plot that had way too much going on.

I was watching the first movie on Blu-ray over Mem. Day and forgot just how good and fun it was in comparison to the other two films, just a slightly campy swashbuckler with a simplistic plot and entertaining characters, all you need for a movie like that. The only reason I would watch the third one again would be for Captain Barbossa, the monkey and Keith Richards. As mentioned, they should have learned from the Matrix and just focused on one single movie sequel. Worked for Spiderman 2.

Yeah, Barbosa was definitely the highlight for me. I am willing to say I liked him more than Johnny Depp. When I saw that he was back at the end of the last Pirates movie, I was just like "OH SNAP" and wanted more, as he was a great villain (not that I didn't like Davy Jones any, though I needn't be reminded 9000 times that he likes to say 'Do you Feel Death?' a'la Sam Jackson's Ezekiel 25:13 speech in Pulp Fiction).
Maybe it's just me but I want my summer blockbusters to be as mindless and convoluted-less as possible. Leave the thought-provoking 'deep' movies to such masterpieces like Children of Men.

thats all based on perception when your watching the movie I think.
My brain just accepted what they were telling me and shrugged off anything that didnt compute.
and yah Barbosa made the movie

getting sick of all these "sequels". the first pirates was a very good one...
the pirates posters/trailers here are repeating the "welcome to singapore" line by that Chow Yun Fatt character.. its getting irritating. aaaah. hollywood.
