I'm not meaning fussy clients, I'm just meaning people that grate you the wrong way. Not because they are mean, just personality clash.
I can't wait to go home today. 5pm - please come quickly!

I get new imaginary friends to talk to.

lol I wish it were that easy Aerix!
I think it's just I'm not in a good mood so that little personality quirks become really amplified and annoying today.
...This too shall pass...

I flip the switch that releases the trapdoor and drops them into the pirannha pool.
That usually shuts 'em up :D

Well, they might scream for a while, until the pirhanas cause their voice box to no longer work....
I deal with annoying people by ignoring them as best I can. If he/she's a person I've never met before and don't think I'll ever meet again and don't have a mutual acuaintance with, I'll likely just ask them to shut the hell up.

I pretty much ignore them as well. Depending on their level of annoyance however, I will say something when I'm really moved to.

Don't have room for a pirannha tank?
Maybe this could solve that annoying problem (http://www.wired.com/culture/design/multimedia/2007/05/ff_weta?slide=6&slideView=5) :D

I try to tune them out completely (a special skill I've developed having 2 young
sons), then every time they try to talk to me ask "Oh, are you talking to me?"
after they finish their sentence. I wish it worked 100% of the time.

A swift punch in the side of their neck normally shuts them up rather quickly. Although sometimes I do get escorted out of the building rather quickly.... Not sure why. *shrugs*
Seriously though, kill them with kindness. Or if I work with them on a regular basis I crank up my iPod so I can't hear them. If I get asked to turn it down by them I just say that (whispering as quietly as possible to them) I turned it up cause some employees can't control their inside voices... ;) Most people are smart enough to take a hint.

ignore them, mock them (personally or behind their back), covert snide remarks, a bunch of eggs, there are always ways to deal with them... I just don't vote for them, which is why I haven't voted Republican for a while. :)

While in California with his band this past weekend, my boyfriend dealt with an annoying obsessive fan by hiding in his hotel room bathroom until she finally left. He listened in on the conversation from there between her and two of his bandmates – they were telling her, "Look, it's time for you to go. We have to get to sleep, we have an early flight back to Jersey tomorrow morning." She started to cry.

I notice that it's hard to deal with people that annoy me when I am feeling overall generally negative. I feel we really just bring it on ourselves if we have a problem with someone for personality clash reasons. It's definitely hard to be positive most of the time, but I really notice that if I am unhappy about something in particular it just makes me want to lash out at anyone that bugs me.

Same here Cam. I was in an especially bad mood the other day. Otherwise, personality quirks glide right over me.
I guess I just needed some timeout. Unfortunately, deadlines don't care about you needing timeout.

If people really start to annoy me, I find the diplomatic solutions to be the best - like screaming obscenities at them while flinging my feces. Works like a charm.
Or you can find out what songs they can't stand, play it on repeat for hours on end, or if your voice is sufficiently bad enough, sing it yourself for hours on end.
Simply, having, wonderful Christmas time - thanks, now I won't be able to get that out of my head for hours.

I was halfway through your post, reading about finding a song someone hates and playing or singing it for them ad nauseum. I was thinking to myself "Yeah, I do that to my boyfriend with that awful Paul McCartney Christmas song." Then I read your last bit. I guess you hate that song too. :D

LBA, your posts are putting me in a splendid mood today. Thank you :)
I'll work on my feces collection (for flinging later).
