I have a graphic problem i cant work around. so i have a logo i made in illy. when i save for web it obviously rasterizes it at 72...which makes it look like crap and hard to read. at 150dpi it looks perfect...however it is scaled way to big. any suggestions on how to incorporate this logo at 150 dpi but the correct size. i got illy and photoshop and fireworks. i have tried opening this illy file in photoshop with a conversion of 150 and resizing, but it still doestn look right when i resize to the width and height it needs to be. i would really appreciate some help..i am sure there is an easy solution i am jsut not thinking of early this morning. appreciate it!

Umm... Illustrator is vector art. If you rasterize it in Photoshop by opening and setting the dimensions and resolution, and it doesn't look right, then you did something wrong in creating it.
Are you using any raster image effects (from the Effects menu)?
If so, you will have to set the resolution for these in the Document Raster Effects Settings dialogue, which is in the Effects menu.
For a 150dpi rasterization, you should either export as TIFF from Illustrator, or open in Photoshop and set dimensions/resolution, as you did.

As Ned said...don't know what effects you might have used. But here's what I do and my logos and illustrations always look fine. First, make sure Illustrator file is RGB. Scale it to correct size in Illustrator. Export as Photoshop (psd) file at 360 dpi with layers intact. Open in Photoshop. Check image size to make sure it meets your web requirements. If not, flatten image and reduce. You should be able to do this in Photoshop without compromising quality. Flatten anyway and use Photoshop Save For Web function. I usually save as JPEG with HTML file but, depending on your artwork, GIF might be ok too. Don't know how complicated your web pages are. Mine are relatively unsophisticated so I hope this advice is relevant.

thanks guys for chiming in. the logo is not complicated and uses no effects. one thing i didnt try was resizing in ai to the exact size i want it. i will try this and keep you posted. but when i save for web doesnt it automatically set the dpi at 72 and therefore resize it. meaning if i had an image at 400 x 200 at 150 dpi it would automatically make it 200 x 100 when i try to save it using the save for web function?? maybe the problem i was having is that i wasnt rasterizing it in photoshop...dont know. will keep experimenting...thanks for your help!
