Greetings, everyone. I'm a design student who, at a late age (my thirties), finally decided to pursue the one field that I have real passion for. I'm certain I won't regret it.

It's nice to find what looks like a vibrant online community of like-minded souls!

I'm glad you have a passion for it. It takes that to succeed. When people go into this field for the money, they get a sad reality check.

Know this: Your college will not teach you enough about the printing aspect of this field. Prepress is a whole 'nother ball ground. Learn as much as you can about this subject, you will thank yourself later. Always concentrate on typography and try not to follow design trends or fads.

There's more but I'm busy this morning. Utilize the forum search... almost every question has been asked at one time or another.
