hi everyone,

If any of you have the time, I would really appreciate hearing some voices on a banner issue I am finding hard to decide on.

The banner is to represent a finance chart program, a very good one, and it needs to be sharp and communicate professional, high performance but at the same time user friendly.

If you know any links as to which styles this falls into and potential tutorials I would be willing to embrace you.

I want to believe that I can give something back to those of you willing to give a hand.

cheers

Joachim

hi joachimfh,

sorry not sure exactly what you are asking? is it which banner looks best or how to reproduce this look?

In the order you posted the, here's my opinions:

1) the best of the bunch. The old guy helps me see business professional, and the look is the most "glassy-looking".

2) The woman looks to me like she is neck deep in water. Looks like she is about to get choked. No very welcoming, in my opinion, therefore no good.

3) Teh guy reminds me of a swimmer, ready to start a race, which didn't meld with the idea you were trying to communicate.

4) I like this one, but the guy just didn't speak of sharp, professionalism to me. Maybe it was the flowery shirt he has on, but he just doesn't fit into this banner.

These are my opinions, based upon my views. You are free to disagree, but hopefully this will help you.

The first is definitely the best. Not only does the mature gentleman give a notion of trust, but the colors and design all flows together the best, as well.

Well done. But... can I give just a quick tip on your mirror image on "Percept"? If you apply a gradient mask to it, so it fades at the end (vertical white to black gradient); and rather than squishing it vertically so much, warp it perspectively (CMD-T with select tool, then hold OPT-CMD-SHIFT and drag on a corner); then it'll look much more like a glass reflection. Right now,it just looks like a squished copy.

hey Spider,

yes it is indeed to start off by asking which one looks best of these, but in either case what needs to be improved.

It seems from the feedback there is a consensus on which ones do not work at all, and I greatly appreciate those of you sharing your time and opinion.

Thanks for pointing out the deep water interpretation. That is as far away from what I want to communicate. As it happens, the old guy too gets that effect.

And yeah flowery guys are not for this business.

Thank you so much for your views.
