Just wanted to get an idea if anyone here does website updates for their customers and if so is it a lot of hassel and worth the price $$ you charge?

I don't do them, but if I did...

Make sure you are clear on your charges. Charge per hour with a minimum charge of 15 minutes. This means that your client will think twice before calling you or emailing you several times a day with changes because each change will cost them at least 15 minutes of time.

Another great suggestion. You should charge me for all your good advice. :P
I am making a web breifing, I was wondering if I should even include that in there? (the option of having me do the work)?

Always give them the option. , they don't have to use you, but if they do they know the cost.

If they can see the price for the upgrades it might make them think about structuring they're adjustment requirements....

I charge hourly, with the first hour costing more. I do this as a couple of my clients have proved in the past to be very "needy". The inflated first hour charge made them slow down and think about what they really needed.

If your efforts or time are covered either monetarily or other, then yes.

To some of my clients it is better I do the updates because they don't know to upload a file to an ftp site. For them to figure it out, it would be better spent that I did it for them.

A co-worker said he charges X amount per month for 3-5 (can't remember) changes.
but I can see the customer saying all these changes are really just copy adjustments.

The above sound good to note.

you have to charge for time, because one "change" might be all the product images in a site or somthing ludicrous like that.

Thanks, I think hourly is the best
