A friend, another designer, called me today. She just sent off some proofs to a client and the client wrote back and told her she didn't like the color the word "proof" was in and would like it in gold or something.

I totally believe it. I had a manager that used to look at my files, and the first thing he would do would to critique the spec information at the top of the page( projectname/ date version#, ect...) for athestics. We are an in-house design firm- so the only people seeing the spec information were the 2 of us, and a factory overseas. Anyway he would have me make revisions to the color, leading, kerning ect... on the spec information for like an hour, while the actual job was on fire. I have many other stories on that Guy, needless to say he didn't last in the job very long.
