Hi guys! web design critique?

Hi everyone, havent been around in a while, been super busy building this forum. Its for Locals around my way (Delaware, US) the state colors are blue and gold, so i tried to stick with that. the skin is a paid skin that was green and blue, and i changed it, and i modded buttons, etc......

hows it look? just overall......thanks for any comments. give it to me str8

overall it seems clean to me. Better than some forums I have seen. the blues look a little too close for me contrast wise, maybe a slightly lighter, lighter-blue.

It was slow opening the first time for me. took a while and the whole page showed up.
Maybe the side bar items should be faded back slightly to give the main focus on the forum content?

It does take a really long time to load, you may want to look at your use of XHTML and non-XHTML attributes, but that's programming and not necessarily design. It's a nice design, overall. Really welcoming.

OT: Anchorman is one of the best movies of all time.

yes the skin is rather graphic intensive, theres also a dark skin as a option for people who prefer a darker page.

Great look overall, but I'm not a big fan of the clock graphic, the highlight seems misshapen

Very nitpicky, but should the text on the first paragraph read "an online ..." not "a online..."

Otherwise, I quite like it! I like this yellow as highlight, makes for easily identifying different secions etc
