Logo Design Showcase, How To?

I'm looking to learn more about logo design, both by viewing some world class designs and reading what the experts have to say on the subject.

Do you know if either of these resources exist on the web?

Or can you recommend a book?

Any do's and don't's of logo design you'd care to list?

Thanks, Ben. I must have joined a couple of hundred forums over the last decade but I can count on one hand the number of times anyone has taken the trouble to welcome me. Of course, if you really want to impress me, I'll look for a fedex delivery containing a shiny new copy of Adobe CS3 and a couple bottles of bubbly. :)

Thanks, Mike. Some nice logos there. Would've been nice if you could also view the logos in B+W coz for me, and as Morea says in his/her article, a logo has to first work in B+W to be viable in color. Plus, I love the simplicity - the minimalism, the essentialness -- of a B+W logo.

You used to able to view online the logos in Print Magazine's regional editions but it doesn't seem you can do that now, at least not as a non-subscriber to the magazine.
