Presentation is everything...

Some of you may already go to this extreme, but I wanted to share a little trick that always 'wows' my customers. When I'm done with a job I don't just through an unlabeled CD in an envelope and mail it...nope. To me, presentation is everything.

I've got slick blue folders that I personally label with my 'TMoore' decal. (I apologize for the blurry pic...I had already shipped the job before I checked the pics)

Then on the inside, I provide the customer with:
- 2 CD's of their artwork (fully labeled on the front with images of what is on there and a screen shot on the back showing the CD contents by file name)
- 5 printouts of each file, in this case it was a T-shirt design, so 5 printouts of the front, back and an overall layout of the front/back to show placement of the designs on the shirt.
- A letter describing everything and thanking them for their business
- An envelope with additional biz cards, postcards and 'TMoore' decals
- An invoice

So...maybe this will inspire some of you to go the extra step to wow your customers and really impress them. If you already do, then you're on top of your game.

I can't tell you how many customers call or write to thank me on how well everything was packaged and presented.

Just a little tip from me to you...keep those customers happy!!!!

Tony

That looks awesome, but why do you give them 2 cd's, and 5 copies? Seems like a waste of resources to me.

I ship 2 cd's because I've had a few customers (a long time ago) say that the printer lost/kept their CD so this way they'll always have a backup. And 5 printouts so that if they take a printout to a printer for pricing and leave it with them, they'll have some extras. Plus I've had some customers who want to be able to pass some printouts around to friends and family to show them the artwork.

I figure it's better to 'wow' them with more than they may need...not to mention it saves me the time and headache of having to find/print/ship one or two printouts should they need one more for something.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Completely agree YNOT. Plus, it is only like $.02 a CD, and a couple of sheets of paper. Not like it is breaking the bank!

This is more of what I'm seeing these days from most of the freelancers we work with. Yep. Don't skimp on the packaging folks!

Cool, that's a nice package to leave behind. I usually just send a postcard from whatever extravegant location I happen to be at that says "Thanks for the money, SUCKER!"

Well...I got these particular decals from monkeydrive.com. They're screen-printed and pretty nice, but not super-great like I had hoped...but then again I didn't pay a ton for them.

I ordered 12 from my buddies at a local sign shop and they turned out great!! Problem was, they were a lot more expensive but they were 200% better than these. These 12 were actually just inkjet on vinyl with a UV coating.

I need to find a cheap decal printer to get more made one of these days.

Sorry guys...it's monkeydrive.net ... not '.com'. I apologize.

By the way...they did a good job, just not quite what I was looking for I guess. All of the lines were a little jagged. All in all they aren't bad, I guess I was hoping for a sharper, more crisp print.
