Welcome to GDF, AKpro. I had a friend who visited Dubai a few years ago and thought that it was just beautiful there.

Please take a few moments to look over the threads posted HERE (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=42); they explain everything you need to know about the place. :)

Hi! What is it like working as a designer in Dubai?

My bf and I were thinking about moving there for the tax free living. Is it as wonderful as people make it out to be?

I was told that you can't go out and party just anywhere because of the beliefs in Dubai. If you want to drink alcohol that you can only do so in the big hotels. Is that true?

yes somehow its true but not that much! there is some shops that you can buy drinks out of town around 30-40 minutes driving from dubai. so u can have it at home (in street and public places is not allowed to drink) and most of the hotels they got bar, pub, clubs. theres so many hotels and dubai despite their belifes and religion it has really good night life. but the problem of dubai is now that its getting so crowded "road traffics" increasing residental rents, constructing all the roads for establishing metro project, etc.
any other info ;) ?

Well, the no tax situation is definately a big pull. I pay more tax per week than I do rent, so the idea of saving a almost $10,000 a year could be well worth it.
