Hello all,

I'd like to introduce myself. I'm you're average run-of-the-mill artist in the fact that i'm totally unique. I've been told that I should call my type of work dada, since it's usually so horrible it's a joke. But all kidding aside I don't make art, art makes me.

I live art, everything I do is art. I design, I program, I doodle, I sculpt (in the medium of office supplies when i'm bored at work :D), I photographate (what else would you call what photographers do? take pictures? HAH! i think not!), and I enjoy the hell out of every waking moment.

My work is bred from hours of meticulous refinement, regardless of what it is.
Some of my older stuff I acctually liked, is still my favorite because of how experimental it feels to me;
"Weave (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/11647325/)" - Photoshop 7.0 - One of the first times I had clean edges I liked (deviantart)
"Sweat Bullets (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/11647282/)" - Photoshop 7.0 - Experimenting with Filters: Still Fun
"Scratch n' Sniff (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/10905136)" - Photoshop 7.0 - Pretty Colors ;)

Some stuff I acctually set out to do something
I was acctually going for some sort of Pop-Art (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26969061)
It's Poppy, but not (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26297895) (I acctually still use this one for my wallpaper on my mac)

Now-a-days I help myself by helping others too, I really found out how fun it was to make my own brushes was, and I wanted to share.
Patterns i've used on old websites (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27443335/)
A Quick way to make my photos sepia-toned (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/27441647/)
Some of my first brushes (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26371304) (note the attempt at clean lines again)
Pressure-Activated Brushes to compliment my Tablet (http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/26759146) (that i eventually sold)

Anywho, thats some of my stuff, none of my photos (most of them are 35mm and hand developed, some of them are digital) but i'll post more work as I explore the forum.

Feel free to PM/IM/E-mail me any time you see something you want to use for stock or just want to chat. Oh, and if you ever need some CC, Advice, or Tips, let me know, i'm no professional, but I'm willing to tell anyone my 'secrets' (because no-one ever told me nuttin' :D)

Anywho, see you around.

PS: don't know what to call me?
I'm used to being called 'paragraph' but if you wan't you can call me RXR or ??R , I'll respond to 'yo' 'dude' 'sup' and 'f' you'

hi rxr, welcome to GDF. It's a little slow around here after 5pm on Fridays, but be sure to check back on Monday when everyone gets back to work. Only a few of us 'die hard' members are around on weekends.

In the mean time, be sure to take a look at the threads posted HERE (http://www.graphicdesignforum.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=42), as they will definitely help you to familiarize yourself with the place.

Nice to have you on board. :)

I'm guessing i'm an odd-ball: I don't do this for a living, I do it as a hobby :D

Welcome aboard, RXR!

There are plenty of us here who do graphics more as a hobby, so don't feel too odd! I started with it as a hobby, now I do it full time.

Where in Jersey? I'm in the northeast, Bergen/Passaic area. Lots of Jersey folk in here.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, we all do this as a hobby before we get good enough or motivated enough to make a living out of it.
