Here's my online portfolio:

http://www.skypooldesign.com

it's not targetted to any particular group really, i haven't been very proactive in searching for clients :\

any comments or suggestions on the site itself or anything in the portfolio would be greatly appreciated! :)

Hi

I assume that somehow the site is meant to attract a client base? When I first logged in on the site, I didn't think advertisment, graphic design or campaign stucture. I don't think the choice of font is well suited for an advertisment studio. Both the header and body text, doesn't lead your mind in the right direction. The body text is in my mind to big and to "Arial", to a proper webdesign. When I look at the header (About, Portfolio) I can't help thinking of cartoons and it gave me the impression that the website were targetted for children. Also the sticker on the frontpage, makes the site looks like it is under construction. I like the idea of using stickers (used it myself once, in a job application (and got the job :))), but if you have to use stickers, use them in a more consistently way, so the viewer are convinced that they are a part of the overall design value.
I don't meen to critique on you graphic design skills, because I think your work (portfolio) is great, and I sense that you have a good flair of what great-looking graphic design is, therefore your website must reflect your skills. And by looking at your portfolio, I don't feel that the site is reflecting what you really are capable of (That was a compliment :)). Many designers has come to realize the importances of a good-looking website, because it is usaully the first visual contact potentiel clients will get with the company. So do not underestimate the power of a good webdesign, especially if your looking for a stabil client base.

My suggestion would be first of all try to brand you company. Write yourself a designgudie for your company. Simply take your logo, find out what kind of typography you would like to use as corporate font, what color schemes do you want to work with, and then use that designguide in everything you make for your own company, including the website. Because if clients feel that you're able to brand your own company, why wouldn't they feel safe handling over their budget to you?

Best Regards

Hello,

I think its a nice, clean site however it hasnt quite got the wow factor yet, I agree with Ramsus, your site doesnt reflect the skill in your portfolio, Id jazz it up a bit, perhaps more colour?

Its still I nice site though you done a good job on it.

hey guys, thank you very much for your critiques! you make some great points and i definitely see where they're coming from. i found it pretty hard to be objective about the site, so your views are very helpful. i will have to think more about the look and fell i want to get across.
