Hi everyone new to the forum, thought I'd post my most recent graphic design work.
Its an album cover I did for a friend, his music is folk/acoustic/progressive.
Would really appreciate any feedback positive or negative!

I think it has potential but, it doesn't look finished as is. It needs further refining and polishing to give it a that finished quality.

is there going to be an album title? is there a story to the illustration or is it open to interpretation?

I like the rough look, but the lines need to be all the same quality.
Example, the guy is made up of sharp lines but the thought bubble/clouds are furry like you've used a blunt pencil or a crayon.
You should trace/redraw the whole thing using 1 pen or pencil so the quality is the same.
I would also muck around with the letters a little so they look different from each other. Change one of the "e" and one of the "b" because at the moment, it is obvious it is a font because the "e" and "b"s are identical. To really get a sense of the hand drawn, they need to be different.

I disagree. I think the variation in the lines look fine. It looks alot rougher and suitable to the style of your drawing.
The one thing that bothers me is the name. It feels like an after thought that you just dropped in that corner. Or maybe i just don't like the typeface you chose, but it feels very disjointed from the rest of the piece. Make the type smaller to give it more breathing room and play with the negative space around it.
It's looking nice so far.

I agree with you Viince about the name it pretty much was an after thought I just dumped there at the end to get the job finished!
already given it to the Peter Dobbyn anyway abnd he seemed to like it so gonna leave it as is and get started on soemhting new!
