Hi
This is a hard one, because with my artist-glasses on I think it is great, it got at 70's look, that are very present these days. I really like it. You keep a cool design throughout the poster. Good job. But with my advertisment-glasses on, it is a bit to messy. It doesn't deliver the message in a way so that the viewer wants to seek more info on the event.
Everytime I'm about to design a poster, the first thing I do is think of four letters A, I, D and A, which are the elements af the A.I.D.A model. It's a common design model that enables you to create the most proper way to deliver the message to the recipients. It works by looking at how people recieve information when looking at e.g. a poster. The first A stands for Attention, so the first thing your poster should deliver is attention. The I stands for Interest, so next the poster should wake a interest in the viewers mind. The D stands for desire, so by now the viewer should have a desire to participate in the event. And finally the second A stands for action, which should clearly tell the viewer where and when the event takes place and where to find more info e.g. via a website or phonenumber.
So by running your poster through the A.I.D.A model, I'll get this result (notice that it's only my opinion, analysing graphic design is a very subjective matter):
A, attention: Absolutely. It grabs your attention at once, the poster is filled with colors, graphic elements and many cool variations of the font.
I, interest: To some degree. I looked at it for a while before I figured out what the poster was about (and I'm still not sure). So if I was walking by it on the street, I'm not sure I'd dedicate the needed time to wake my interest.
D, desire: I already lost it. Due to the fact that it probarly wouldn't wake my interest it wouldn't give me the desire to participate in the event. But lets say that it did stimulated an interest in me, I think that I'd feel a desire, because the poster looks so cool and fresh (But keep in mind that i'm a graphic designer, so perhaps not everyone stops up on the street everytime they see a cool poster :)).
A, action: Very little. You got the elements (dates and location), but they're to invisible considering the importances of the them. Perhaps a dedicated area on the bottom of the poster could be a solution. I'm not saying that you should remove the dates and location from the 70's looking element, but perhaps consider both.
So the idea is that if you want to create a good ad-poster, that delivers the message to the recipients in an effective way. You should be able to run it through the A.I.D.A model, and get a positive respond on every level. Because if you for instance lose the viewer at "I", the viewer will not get the "D" and "A" and so on. If you understand what I mean.
That's my view on your poster. So i guess the conclusion is that it looks really awesome from an artistic point of view, but it hasn't got that important information aspect, and in the end that is what sells the tickets.
Hope you could use the input.

Hello,
i think it's missing some visual hierarchy. it all sort of pops out at you all at once, and the reader wouldn't know what to look at first, know what i mean?
also, the info at the top and bottom seem to be most important, but they have the least contrast.
and i'm not sure what the top illustration is, it looks like a skull in profile?

I see a skull as well. A little disconcerting.

The text at the top and at the bottom look too distorted. And it's creating a lot of emptiness in all four corners. I think the text should break out of that circular form that it's in. It'd be much easier to read as well.
As other have stated it needs a hierachy. My eyes don't know to go up, down, left right- everythings the same- contrast.

Bike Toss? I'm game.:D
I like the design. The event name and dates are lost though.
Could be an expensive t-shirt. 6 color. 7 if you use Purple. But I'd get one.

Yeah I was thinking that, so I made it into a 5 colour. And also dramatically changed the colours scheme, to bring more def. to the main text. Now it sort of looks like a black light poster.
Unfortunatley I cannot seem to get the new image uploaded. But it looks very cool.

In these times, the only good graphic designers are the ones who push boundaries.
You're pushing here, but maybe a touch too far with the imagery in the center of the piece - it's too incoherent. You've got something great here with the typography. The black and red of the card faces feel out of place, as well as the solid black imagery.
