I think that's the signature, dude :)... But you're right about it though :).

the pic isn't working because im guessing the poster saved it as a CMYK, i checked the link back to imageshack and it has an error, which leads me to believe the poster forgot to change the colors back over to RGB

The file was indeed in CMYK. I downloaded it. Safari permits the preview of CMYK images.
I saved it as RGB and re-uploaded it and changed the link in the original post. Yup, uh-huh, it's slower than heck here at work! :)

I like it how it is. However - I do wish the grey area surrounding the box was equal on the top bottom and left side, mimicing the box.
I'm not getting it.
What do the images have to do with the title, music, etc?
In addition, your kerning needs to be re-accessed. Especially between the t and h.

I like it... what kind of music is it? I'm thinking electronic?...
I would perhaps loose the ( ) in (fear is in), make it roman and decrease the leading a bit...
Another thing is the way you write theARTILLERY... you write is as if it where a logo, and then also you have a logo-like object on the right with the initials, but writing in a whole other format. What are you're thoughts behind doing this? My first thought was that the TA in the green/yellow box was some sort of label-company, until I saw the connection with the band name..
But in generally I like it, just be careful not to "brand" your band in to many ways.

nothing strikes me as it being great.
it is a little ho hum right now.
maybe if you tell us more about teh band and the album we'd get a better feel for it.

it looks alright right now.
i'm not crazy about the photograph though. The areas above and below the gray box are very similar in size. You might as well center it if it's that similar, or move it drastically up or down. As for the "TA", unless that's your band's official logo, i'd just take it out. I also think the whole piece would look better without the gray border.
I do enjoy your color choice and how you italicized "the" to lean against the "A".

I have issues with the photo too.
The composition has no real focus, and the high contrast is not helping the photo (or the photo isn't suited for that treatment) -it's washed out -for lack of a better term.
If there is a concept there I'm not seeing it, but then again I'm up past my bedtime.

to me it means if you take the peace sign and then turn it upside down it makes an a for austin. so my band decided to do a complete redesign here is the final

* some people have said "The Artillery" is illegible but others said they can read it fine and both without us telling them what it is .
is that mary poppins flying high over the cityscape, having just made a hard working family rekindle their love for one another and leaving them bouncing off the ceiling with laughter?

I much prefer the new one...especially mary poppins! (if it is indeed her) not sure how its relevant though? Still, its cute. The TA in the other one reminded me of the AA logo and the Teretorial Army?
Well done one the new one!

Couldn't you get into legal troubles with Disney over the Mary Poppins look-a-like? I'd be cautious about that one. Especially since her 'figgure' and umbrella flying is SO unique to her image.

new one is much much better. I think on band stuff, i have played punk and indie rock for about 14 years, you have the liberty to go very abstract and not worry about the end user as much as you would in other design areas. Hell we are supposed to be artsy pretentious people so go with it. and mary poppins rock

I like the look of the new one a lot better.
It reminds me of the latest Modest Mouse CD. I like the colors and feel to it.
Not sure about MAry Poppins though.
Come up with something original and it will rock!

I love the Mary Poppins. The cityscape is nice but there is a certain "trendy" look about it. Mary Poppins gives it something unexpected y'know?

That piece reminds me of some work a professor I had in college has done. His name is Max Grundy (www.maxgrundy.com)

I really like the look, but are they tied to that font for sure? I think there could be some better ones that make it more legible, especially since it isn't a household name.

i like the typeface. the only thing i don't like is the weird jagged shapes at the bottom. Is it supposed to look like a splash? Is it supposed to look ripped? I don't think it adds much to the piece. It just looks out of place.

Looks very nice, what about making the front art come back in the small
part of the transparant tray inlay?
