creating a button with someone else's logo

Hi - I am not a web designer (and I suppose this could be asked under any design topic)...

I have had a request to make a button for a friends website (after she saw some buttons I created for my site and personal blog). She wants to use the logo that was made for them by another designer.

Am I allowed to just create it? Or do I have to contact the original designer for permission to use the logo to create the button??

The logo belongs to your friend not the designer who created it.

She can use it as she pleases.

Thanks, budafist... that's pretty much what I figured, but I just wasn't sure it the same "rules" applied to the web as they do for print.
