I'm about to do a new run of business cards. I just remembered a coating treatment I'm looking for that I recall seeing (and touching, gleefully) on a desert menu (or maybe it was mixed drinks?) that I saw at an Applebee's, once. It seemed kind of like a typical UV coat but appeared to be applied thicker, and it had kind of a waxy shine.

Anyone have a clue what this might be? If it helps at all, I've never seen it used before anywhere else.

Table tents and menus are more likely to be overlammed rather than coated. Some of them are even encapsulated (sealed edges) so spills don't ruin them during the promo period. You may have been looking at a 5 or 10mil lam.

That sounds like you might be right, PD. How would one go about getting such a treatment? Pricey much?

We have a matte laminated biz card. CMYK process. PM me if you want the details.

And no - not pricey IMO.
