Client: Cause4design
Compensation: Pro-bono, mad props from all your adoring fans right here at GDF
Deadline: Sunday 22 July? That's 3 weekends to work it.
Brief: Logo required for GDF Project. To be used on future projects of the same charitable nature. Should have a worldwide appeal.
Contract: At least with this pro-bono there won't be a million changes! Just post up as much as you want to work on it. Logos will be accepted "as is". You can put it in your portfolio.
Email your design to me at gdfcalendar at gmail dot com or post on here. Whichever is easier.
I'll chuck up all submissions in a new thread for voting. Unless of course you want to showcase in this thread.
Let it be known if I've missed out anything!

I'm glad I got to use that desert horizon gradient in a logo. It never seems appropriate normally, but it just seemed to work so well on the "4". A certain je ne sais quoi.
If I stare at that long enough... will there be a "Magic Image" in there??

yeah, the online tool I found to make the magic eye was like trying to draw with someone else pulling on the pen whilst submerged in jello :( I will come up with a semi serious attempt for the cause soon though. I am 90% mischief and sarcasm (you'll grow to love it, or I'll kill you in your sleep)

Sweet! I don't normally see magic eye things so good, but I saw the boot and what I thought was a face. I see now that it is no face :D

Had a few ideas whilst throwing stones into the sea with the kids this afternoon. Wicked afternoon by the way and I found a dress I could crowbar my t1ts into for the wedding next weekend (not down the beach), so hooray! (not finished logos, just scribbly shoved together ideas)...

Yeah, that's much more simple than my first idea. I think I got hung up on the registration marks with the heart idea, but Tom's is much nicer.

Alright, here are a few options I cranked out. I promise I did pencil sketches first :D

I can play with color options later if necessary.
And yes, I know I used courier :) ... it just seemed to make sense with that option.
I like a lot of these...
My top 3 picks are Tom's heart design, Frankster's second (middle) design, and Craig's option 2 design (I love the mark though it's tough to see the C4D in it - but with the copy underneath, it works).
It feels good, doesn't it?

yeah, I was starting to think they did the branding of those two well known charities, but then I noticed:
Corporate Identity & Brand Strategy: Wolff Olins
for the Product Red...Yes the same company that did everyone's favorite olympic logo!!
Oh, dear. I thought the name was secured. Bummer. That may mean some rewriting. I'm holding off then until this matter is cleared up.

Carter's designed4acause was the second place choice in the voting. Do we want to go with that? Then the logo wouldn't need to change much.
