I don't think this question makes sense. Are they just asking how to convert an image from rgb to cmyk?

I didn't answer before because I didn't understand the question. Glad I'm not the only one!

Yes, they would like to know how to convert an image from RGB to CMYK.

Thanks!

Using what software?
I think you'd do better just telling us what you're doing, what you're trying to do and what you're doing it with.

Also, even though you could convert an RGB file with simple press of a button in Photoshop, the colours will still be RGB colours but printed in CMYK.

Example, in RGB, there is no black. Therefore, an RGB black converted to CMYK will have values entered in CMY as well as black. This can be a good thing in photos, but our printers hate it for small text because registration is so tight.

They are using photoshop.
They asked me, which color -setting should they use for conversion in photoshop. (from RGB to CMYK)?
They use the "European PrePress 2" which is given in photoshop.

Thanks!

in anycase it is always better in Photoshop, before U convert a RGB file into CMYK, view it in Proof Colors preview (ctrl + Y), so that U know what the changes will be and can control the colors in RGB mode itself, which is advisable.

It's spelled 'YOU'.

Also, not sure exactly what the OP is asking. Does the printer have a suggested CMYK profile they want images converted to? How you do that depends on the version of Photoshop you are doing. The Convert function got moved from Image to Edit menu.
