Hi everyone!
I'm a landscape designer and architectural illustrator in Northern VA. While the bulk of my work is doing landscape master plans, I'm growing a business specializing in drafting, rendering and illustrating for contractors and homebuilders. My illustration work is a combo of SketchUp (finished off in Kerkythea and/ or Photoshop) and hand drawing.
Outside of work, my wife and I live in a house-shaped debris pile we're renovating as time permits.
I've been lurking and following some great discussions- I hope to contribute at least half as much as I learn!

Welcome!
If you house is a mess, does your garden at least look good? Seeing that you do landscape and all?

Not in the slightest. I feel like I spend my life digging- new footers for the crawlspace, replacing the clay sewer pipe, installing a rainwater-harvesting system, and now repairing the foundation... it'll look attractive someday. Right now the biggest weekly change is where the holes are.
100 year old homes are much more charming in magazines

Welcome aboard Dave, I think every house is a work in progress it just never ends. I've been remodeling the lower level of my home for about two years of weekends.

I've love a house in progress! Sadly you can't touch a house when you are renting. All we get to do is mow the lawns....and we haven't done that once yet.
