Sessions School of Design (sessions.edu) - is it legit?

I am looking into online/part-time graphic design and digital illustration programs - can anyone here tell me if Sessions School of Design (first online school of design) is legit? Their website and materials look good, their courses look relevant, but I want to hear from others who have actually gone through their certificate programs. Will these programs properly prepare someone who want to enter the field of graphic/web design?

Internet courses do not have enough credibility yet and nothing replaces a formal education at a college/university or trade school.

Yeh, in additon to the lack of credibility Internet courses have. I think you will learn more if you have someone there showing you physically.

Aquent used to have a connection with them, and provided employees a discount. I still thought the classes were pricey. I found something great recently at NYU's School:

For online schools, yes, Sessions has a good rep.

But you'd better have a darned good reason to be taking your courses online, for the reasons mentioned above.

I wouldnt listen. There are a lot of very credible online schools. Especially with people going to school in their spare time nowadays. The Art Institute is very credible and they have an online campus www.aionline.edu. All you have to do is see if they are an accredited college. If you have the self discipline and whe will to learn, you wont be missing out on any education Just the social aspect, which I agree is a great experience but you can get a great education online.

Well, y'know... If you take an online course through a place like the Art Institute, there's no reason you HAVE to say that it's online. I mean, don't lie about it if you're asked, but you don't have to put in big bold letters on your resume - Art Institute - ONLINE COURSE. However, if it's from sessions.edu or something, everyone knows it's online.

thats true. when i was looking into AIO, they told me that even if you graduate with all online courses, your diploma will say "The Art Institute of Pittsburg"
