Hey folks.

Just having abit of trouble with something. I'm trying to save a Cs2 file as a Cs1 file in Indesign Cs3. How would i go about doing this?

I tried following a step to export it as in interchangable exchange, then tried to open it but it crashed. The instructions recommended to download this cs3.03 or something update. But i checked the version and its like 5.0! So I guess its already updated?

The other method they suggested was saving it as an inx in cs3, then passing that onto someone with cs2 and having them doing the same. Which seems ridiculous with so many files.

Cheers for saving the day again.

Sierng.

i think you need a plugin for CS1 to open the inx file. have you installed that?

I would recommend making a folder named project or something. Then saving the file as you would regularly to it. Then save the packaged folder to it. Then save a inx file to the project folder. Then you should be able to to access everything when you open inx file. At least that is the way I believe I did it when I ran into a similar situation.

careful with the resulting CS 1 file, though. There's a decent chance that
just going from CS 2 to CS 1 will create some problems, but going from CS 3
to CS 1 seems like a stretch. I don't think ID CS 3 is supposed to export back
more than 1 version. I've never tried to go back that far though.
