Apps you could use: PowerPoint, Acrobat, Keynote, etc.
Sound? here (http://www.google.com/search?q=playing+song+in+powerpoint&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:unofficial&client=firefox-a).

I've been amazed with Keynote... i have the demo version, and it blows away powerpoint (or whatever Open Office's verion is called) from what i've seen.
the only reason i haven't bought keynote yet is because i wouldn't know how to get that quality of a presentation when your using something other than a mac (if someone owns keynote and knows if it exports to flash or something, please let me know)

Keynote is definitely a sweet application. I've only used it in demo as well, but it's a vast improvement over PowerPoint, IMO.

I don't do enough presentations for keynote, but i've been very successful with using Flash for my company's presentation needs. :) You can put it on a CD-ROM even and have it auto-launch....or create a self- running file for mac or PC. :) Lots of creative options and interactivity to play with also if that need is there.
I hate powerpoint because compared to what can be done in Flash....powerpoint seems inferior to me.

actually, i think you can export to quicktime, powerpoint and even flash from keynote. i don't have the most recent version, but it was more versatile than i thought.

very nice....again never tried keynote...hear great things about it...I just don't do enough presentations that it would be worth getting...and learning a new program, when flash does everything I need it to do and more!
