random CSI episode, tech geeks sitting around computer analyzing low quality security cam still:
"See, on this security cam all we see is a shadow of the killer...HEY, MAYBE IF I ZOOM IN ON THE EYE OF THE MAN IN THE BACKGROUND, WE CAN SEE THE REFLECTION OF THE KILLER...!"
click click click.....
"hmmm, the quality is a little blurry...let me clean that up a bit..."
click click click
and voila! perfect image of the killer, off of the reflection of someones eye in the background of a grainy still of a security cam...
Crap like this is why people think us designers and computer nuts can take any crap image and "JUST CLEAN IT UP A BIT" and turn it into ****ing gold....

You guys just need to get your hands on a copy of Abode PhotoShop CSI. You have to know somebody to get it but It's well worth it. Mine will do all this stuff. I love the infinite zoom plug in and the 180 degree rotation plug in is a must have. ;)

What?! You mean you guys are working with regular Photoshop? Puh-leeaase! You got to get into the CSI version. Kool's right:infinite zoom plug in and the 180 degree rotation plug in is priceless.

Photoshop CSI... hilarious
but yeah the whole zoom>enhance thing gets me everytime.
They do the same with audio evidence.
They can isloate a sound out of an incredibly distorted soundtrack.
I wish I had their software.;)
*throws copy of Sound Forge in garbage.
Well Myst, you need to upgrade to Sound Forge CSI too. I have it and it's awesome. All you do is type rapidly on the keyboard and it automatically "filters" out all the sounds you don't want (It just knows) leaving you with a clear recording of the sound you do want. Sheeze all you guys need to get with the times. ;)

Typing rapidly on your keyboard helps the program know how fast to work. The faster you type, the more urgent the job is.

This is a sad day. My dreams of becoming a CSI tech are now gone with the wind. That was the only reason I joined this forum....to learn photoshop CSI.

oh yes, photoshop csi is awsome.
infact, I had this one client last week who needed me to increase the quality of a shot from a security cam for him so he could identify a robber who robbed his store clean.
it started with this:

hahaha, there was a scene in last season's 24 where it was just like that. they were waiting to decrypt an image file, and it was all pixel-y, then suddenly a high res photo pops up. "omg, the terrorists are targetting the guy who just left the building!"

Was it blade runner that started all this back in the 80's? remember the scene where Deckard puts a photo of Leon's apartment into that voice controlled image enhancer and zooms in to see a reflection of Zhora in a mirror in the room?

yeah, but that's set in the future, so maybe adobe will have those features by then.
