Quark 7 issue

So in Quark XPress 7 instead of housing your license number on you HD you can store it on the local server and just have everyone ping that. Makes sence....

Well our servers here at work have gotten REALLY slow! We complained and IT is blaming the slow servers on the need for Quark to find the license on the server. We disagree but the are insisting.

Anyone else have an issue like this? any fixes?

What computers are you using? Macs? Which OS? There are some speed up tricks but not all are for the faint of heart.

Have you altered the ip list thingy in the admin settings of the workstation macs? I'll need to swot up on this a bit, been many months since I set up the network here.

I shall go away and swat up, I'll be back. Eventually...

Will IT show you a log of the server activity monitor and what applications
are hogging resources? They should be able to prove their point to you that
way, and point to the IP addresses that are causing the trouble.

Not that I am aware of... Lord knows what they do to these computers before they let us assult them :)
