Hi,

I want to save my picture so it looks like the old photo. Does anyone know the settings?

Thanks

To really create the look of an old worn-out photo, it usually requires many, many layers of color and texture that utilize multiple types of layer blending modes. It's a very subjective process where you, as the artist, decide what detail to keep and what to subdue. However there are a few shortcuts if your not looking to create something that involved...try starting at Adobe's action exchange, <img border="0" src= " http://www.casedsgn.com/sig_reg.jpg"> ("]here[/url] is an action to recreate an old worn-out newspaper image. Most of the actions found here are made for 72dpi images, and produce different results with an image of a higher dpi. To use an action, download it, open the actions palette in photoshop, click on the palette arrow and load actions. Select the action you want to use and click the play button.

here's an example using lots of scanned textures and layer blending modes.

In Photoshop

Take a black piece of paper and scratch it. Before destroying it scan it in gray scale. To "take" the white scratches go to channels pallete and duplicate the one current channel. Select-Load selection - Gray copy

Layers - Layer via copy

Save file

You can adjust the wet effect on your photo.

On a piece of paper drop some liquid (coffee prefared)

Scan it. Turn image in Grayscale

Keep the "wet" you want by filling with a brush with black color the white unwanted areas

In channel palette, dublicate the current channel

Select - load selection - graycopy

Layers - New layer - layer via copy

You can use the same technique for "cigarette" or "dust" effects

The basic photo

Turn the photo you scanrd in grayscale

Image-Ajust-Levels - move the White index to the left

Return to RGB

Foreground colorQ R 210, G 185, B 120

New layer - fill with current foreground color opacity: 90%

Blend Channel - try

Use Noise Filter in different color channels

Paste the previous image layers (scratches, dust, wet etc)
