Do you guys have a lottery drawn every night of the week?

Ours is every Saturday but they have introduced another lottery called Big Wednesday here where you win a whole lot of lifestyle luxury prizes as well as money.

I can tell you the results of Big Wednesday tomorrow. :)

Our lotto drawings here, in FL, are every Wednesday and Saturday night. I never play though. I would rather save the $2 a week, then risk loosing it.

Do you play the lotto?

*skips around with Franster* How's life treating both of yall?

I am about to leave you two in here, as I embark on an epic quest for noodles. Wish me well on my voyage to unchartered chinese restaurants. I search for the barbequiest porkiest noodles known to man. I may be some time.

People I can freelance too. Just about everyone and anyone. Mostly younger people who have businesses just starting out. I have a basic concept based on my 'style' I just need to expand it some, thats where I have been hitting my rocks.

i just added @aol.com to the end, did it work?

CkretAjint

Abridge version is:

The majority (90%) of my work is done in illustrator. I tend to do very line heavy peices. Don't really care for photographs all tha ]t much when I can illustrate it just fine. I did the Alicia Silverstone / Batgirl images in teh Showcase forum...

That being said, Paul Klee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Klee) once said 'A line a dot that went for a walk.'

Basic 'idea I have had is: TheWalkingDot.com .... I just can't think of anything super fun and exciting to illutrate/show this without using just black and white lines. *shrugs* I think I just over critique my own ideas and thoughts to much.... UGH!

Input?

do you ever watch the show "how it's made" (or something like that)? they have animations in between where its just one continuous line drawing illustrating what they're talking about. i think that would be cool with the walking dot idea. you would need to figure out an easy way to animate it tho.

CkretAjint
07-25-2007, 03:23 AM
I could do it in flash pretty easily (time consuming though). As fun as that would be, I am still having a hard time thinking up something decent (in my eyes) to illustrate this concept in/on a 2D form like b-Card, letterhead, envelopes, flyers, etc... Anything can be done with animation and 3D effects. It's the 2d part that seems to be killing me, the part I am SUPPOSED to be good at. LOL!

 I just realized this is my 500th post. GO ME!!!

how about more of those continuous line drawings, except just printed. maybe have the words part of the continuous line as well. basically just doodles, you could make it whimsical and fun. i'm sure i've seen it done before tho.

I sent someone else out for the noodles! Say, the walking dot thing made me think of blind contour drawings (very organic and have emmense character). Maybe we can have a blind contour challenge to draw anything but with one line, not taking the pen off the paper and not looking at your paper at all, like this...

http://quadruped.us/matt/inkfinger/niff/BCF_03.jpg

Or maybe we could all do blind contour self portraits?

Two-Toe Tom

ooh very nice! i would totally cheat at blind contour drawings tho :p

Frankster... I realy like that image, and I REALLY like the film canister with the hint of yellow on/in it. You maybe have just jump started my creative juices on this project! THANKS!!!!

Tom, why go out of your way and cheat? It's only a contest.... :P

I would be down for a contest like that. Frankster, make up some rules and give us some time to come with our drawings :)

budafist
07-25-2007, 03:52 AM
Yeah, I imagine everyone will cheat!

I remember doing blind contour drawings in life drawing. To prevent us from cheating, the teacher put a spotlight on the model and the rest of us sat in darkness. Can't see the paper, can't cheat!

ahhhhh i'm trying to do some but i'm going way too fast. i think you're supposed to go as slow as possible for those. i don't have the patience :(

CkretAjint
07-25-2007, 03:54 AM
Not slow, not fast... gotta find just the right pace. Its a delicate balance. Oddly enough alot of my quicky sketches are done this way. Never realized that before! haha... Sweet find

anyone want to draw stuff on iscribble.net?

budafist
07-25-2007, 04:06 AM
In that kind of drawing, it's a good idea to sit for 5 minutes observing before you even start to draw. Study the shape and distances from one edge to the other.

We did that in life drawing class. 5 minutes of studying only and then 3 minutes of drawing. Those drawings were much better than 8 minutes of normal drawing because you are forced to observe first. When you forget to observe you tend to make stuff up instead of recording what you see in front of you.

I really miss life drawing classes! I can of course draw the family, but the kids move damn fast, even when asleep they tend to brake dance. I can draw the husband, which is quite cool, as he climbs, so has defined muscles to sketch, but if I take my clothes of the husband isn't in the slightest bit interested in drawing me! I'd like to get back to sketching all the crazy unusual body type models you get at a life drawing class!

Haha. Yeah I really enjoyed life drawing. So soothing and everyone was just so absorbed in their work. One of our friends was talking about getting back into it and my bf wants to do it too. Maybe we'll organise a social class :D

Everyone takes turns at getting their kit off!

Seriously though, there is a new class being held at a local bar and they hold life drawing classes. But instead of normal nudes, they have props like guns and swords. Sounds cool!

I HATE blind contour drawings!! it was the worst thing about college.

frankster
07-25-2007, 04:39 AM
Ah, I never studied art at college, so I am still enamoured with things that I was never forced to do or graded on. Thermodynamics and Electromagnetism however I have had more than a gut full of.

Two-Toe Tom

what'dya study in college?

frankster
07-25-2007, 04:47 AM
Sick, dirty things like Hewligan. No, wait that sounds like I studied Hewligan and that he is sick and dirty. What I mean is that we both studied physics, which is sick and dirty, or rather most people who willingly study physics are sick and dirty in some way.

Two-Toe Tom
07-25-2007, 04:49 AM
haha, physics ain't so bad, i studied engineering out of spite for this guy i know in highschool.

Engineering is more twisted and filthy than sick and dirty, but you're in good company nevertheless.
