What does the perfume smell like? Clean? Floral? Pungent? Fruity? Earthy?

AlexNJ210

anyone else associate pungent with something foul smelling? (i know it means smelling strong, which only intensifies the negative connotation for me)

Smelly Stuff that Virgo is Allergic To, Inc.

We will need a lot more information to give you non-smartass suggestions as to where to find inspiration.

You mention men's and women's fragrances, but what ages? What is the philosophy of the company? Are they edgy and modern or traditional and sophisticated?

There is soooo much involved with naming a company, simply asking "What should I name my perfume company?" will not give you or us any idea what direction to point you in. This is why there are companies out there who make a fortune helping other new companies find a name that works for them.

The best I can offer you right now is to try this link (http://www.lightsphere.com/dev/web20.html) to come up with a random made up "name" that just might sound cool.

My four year old wants me to buy the swivel sweeper so bad! She absolutely loves them. She's even tried to convince me by telling me they throw in an extra one if you buy now - one for her and one for me.

Kwidoo sounds like a kids' pool toy. Mydel sounds too much like Midol, a drug women take to alleviate their pre-menstrual syndrom symptoms.

Take one step at a time. You're not ready the graphic design part of it seeing as you have no name chosen. Printing is the least of your worries right now.

What does Kwidoo mean?

I think it's just really odd that this name was chosen YESTERDAY and you already have a logo designed. You should check out TZ's logo design thread for the logo he recently created. It is an excellent example of the logo design process from concepts on paper through final execution. It seems to me that you threw a logo together in no time and in my opinion, it shows. I'm not trying to bash you. I'm just trying to make you see that as a designer, it is your duty to be far more conscientious and aware than what you seem to be. This is going to be this products entire identity. This is their first impression to the public - before people even smell the perfume, they will see the logo. The responsibility on your part is HUGE. Huge enough that it should require far more research, development, time, creative energy and thought than what you've put into it.

Virgo Nightingale
07-27-2007, 04:06 PM
I really don't think Kwidoo is a good name for a fragrance. It really sounds childish, like a kids' game or toy. Unless the fragrance is aimed for children (which would really really be a bad idea), I'd seriously reconsider this name.

Cornfed summarized my thoughts well.

Besides for the name which I don't think appeals to the target market. The name doesn't say elegant, beautiful, scent, etc- it says comical or kids and reminds of something to do with a comedian not a serious product branding effort.

Milorganite is the brand name of an organic nitrogen fertilizer produced by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District. Popularized in the United States during the 1940s and 1950s, it consists of processed sludge from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Jones Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The fertilizer is made up of microbes that have digested nutrients from the sewage stream along with added iron, used to strip phosphorus from the waste water flowing into Lake Michigan.

The name Milorganite is a contraction of the phrase Milwaukee Organic Nitrogen, and was the result of a 1925 naming contest held in National Fertilizer Magazine.

Milorganite(r) 6-2-0 is sold throughout the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Pacific Rim as a homeowner and golf course fertilizer.
