Me: "This image is really low resolution, can you get it scanned at a higher resolution, it's not going to print very well."
Client: "It will print fine because I am under orders from Jesus to use that particular image and you can't expect me to go against His wishes now, can you?"
I only wish that was a joke.

It's only bad to us. His miraculous touch will ensure the picture prints as well as anything 2400 dpi. Sheesh, don't you know ANYTHING?
I only hope the client is still delusional when that mess arrives.
A few years ago I had someone tell me that St. Joseph had told them to hire me and that all I had to do was sit in my garden with a pen in my hand and he would do the illustration through me.
It was minus 40 outside without about 3 feet of snow.
I assume St. Joseph lives in South America.
I shoulda been a pole dancer.

And everyone knows Jesus wouldn't need a scanner to impregnate your computer with an image, Whatever the work is, you should name the file "The immaculate conception."

Like I could make this stuff up. Actually, the situation is about 10 times worse and more unbelievable, but I'm afraid it I put in too many details the client might someday stumble in here. LOL
Well, that and my fear of being struck by lightning.

That's not far off from the actual name of the file. Honestly!

The client's boss is Jesus, as in Son of God. I regularly get eMail from Him concerning the project. This has been going on for years, but it seems to have gotten much worse in the last few months.

It's funny, but soo sad. It's like if you talk to invisible people they lock you up. But if you tell people those invisible people have names like Jesus, God, Allah, Muhammad, etc, they praise you.

That's funny, I used to work with my dad in the summer, he owned a home repair business. Whenever a customer would get mad and ask to see his boss, he would say "Okay, well get down on your knees, and put your hands together like this.."

Normally, no, you wouldn't countermand a direct order from Jesus - but what if you're under direct orders from the Holy Ghost to use only high resolution images? Whose order gets priority, Father, Son, or Holy Ghost? Or is it a tie that can only be broken with a rattlesnake dance-off?
If one were to be logical, changing the image resolution technically isn't changing the image itself, so you wouldn't be going against His wishes, right? I know, I know, logic really doesn't apply to the situation. I'm just sayin'.

it's like that episode of Simpsons where Marge was being tested for insanity and she started praying. So the judges were like," who you talking to? is he here? so, he's everywhere..."

Jesus called and he said he'd made a mistake. He wants you to rescan the image that he scanned earlier for you. He said he accidentally scanned it at 72dpi. He was hungover and wasn't thinkng straight.

Wow! That's pretty crazy. You should confuse the hell out of them by telling them "We have a problem. Jesus is telling me that this image is no good. He says to keep telling you to rescan it." Act as if it's really a problem for you to go against what you firmly believe Jesus is telling you.

Can we please not lump all religious people together as psychotic crazy nutjobs? I can tell you from personal experience that even *admitting* to being religious gets you a whole lot of hassle and dirty looks, certainly not praise. (For the record, I'm not singling you out carter, I just wanted to respond to your statement quoted above.)
As for a few of the other posts in this thread, yeah, this is clearly over the top, but let's not go too far down the path to religion bashing, please.
Remember, it's the 'extremists' who make the news, not the mainstream religious folks. The fact that someone accepts the label "religious" does not mean that they are crazy, stupid or uneducated.

Maybe you could just explain that Jesus is the art director and that the Holy Spirit, who works in production, really wants the image rescanned so it will print properly.
