exporting 48 page file to pdf - after initial process message i get color wheel and then error message postscript driver has not responded do you wish to continue.

i have trashed prefs, trashed jaws fonts, used font doctor and removed suspect fonts, there are no fonts in usage that are not in the document, and i have run cocktail numerous times.

also tried exporting a few pages at a time.

can anyone please help with this

I had a similar problem a while back, I'm using 7.1 what about you?

Anyway, the solution to my problem was some naff XTensions that I'd installed. By naff I mean that Quark gave them to us for free, so I downloaded and installed them. Thanks Quark, can't PDF now.

Hope that helps. :)

Try printing page by page. If you can make one of the pages into a PDF then you know its an element on some of the pages. Then you need to source the problem element by removing various elements one by one and printing after removing each one (choose just one page to do this on). Very tiresome and annoying but it happens to me from time to time.

The frustrating thing about this is that sometimes it draws a blank. If anyone knows a better way to do this I'm all ears.

Sometimes I'll omit all images form the print settings, if it works I know it's an image issue, then I go through and check the epsmfiles first, usually the prime candidate. If it doesn't work you know there is a very high chance its a font issue.

Only otherthing is to not use Quarks built in PDF creation, print to ps and then distill the baby. Distiller usually gives you an indication of which page made the process go all crazy and crash.

I would print to postscript and go the distiller route as Spug stated. That is what I do to all my Quark docs having very little issues.
