F**k'n Referees

Ball hockey championships. Series is tied 1-1. Tonight was the make or break game. The refereeing is appalling. Last game our team was assessed 5 penalties, and our captain got high sticked, and no penalty called. He got 6 stitches for his trouble.

Tonight, same thing, though we only got one penalty against us, BUT, the other team could trip us, hack us and cross check us and nothing got called. THEN, one of our centers gets high sticked which split his eyebrow open. Did we get a call? Nope.

We ended up losing in double overtime on a break away. Not like that was the make or break the game play...we should've won. We dominated in the regular season, but because of some gay reffing it tipped the scales in the other team's favour.

So this shout out is to all of you minor sports refs that shouldn't have that glazed look on your faces when you're supposed to be paying attention to what's happening in the game.

I hear ya' Mag, I play in a ball hockey league as well and we always get the most calls on us....i think because it's our first year in the league and our first game we had a few scuffles. Since then the ref's give us a hard time. One game some of us had to switch gloves between shifts because a few of the guys wore lacrosse gloves. They said they couldn't use them. We lost because of that crap. After we checked the rule books and it said nothing about not being able to wear lacrosse gloves.

Yeah, same as hockey, no ice or skates, and we use a ball instead. It's a great work-out, though I find it does more damage to my legs than good.

You're right defjoe, dats how it goes, but it's annoying. Worse too cuz I actually wanted to win...

Mag - you win. I dunno if anyone here likes college football but did you see the VA Tech/USC game? I was at that game and lemme tell ya. VA Tech was going to win! We could all feel it! We were going to knock off the #1 team in the country! Until a phantom pass interference call in the 3rd quarter. Yes, teams should be able to shake it off but then again... they shouldn't have to. The calls shouldn't be made in the first place.
