 o my! my best friend recruited me to design his wedding invitations, his bride to be is set on one color -- PMS 313.

my problem is, how does that translate to my fanout guide -- 313u is no where near -- and i looked for the process color equal, but could not find the correct combination. please help! thanks

313u is nowhere near what? 313c?

What's the job being printed on? Coated or Uncoated paper stock?

Is it being printed in single colour or CMYK at a printers? Litho or Digital?

Are you printing it yourself from your home machine?

We'll need a little more info to give you an informed answer.

ok sorry! lol PMS 313 is a teal/blue color, when i am looking by number on my fanout, the PMS color does not match the color on the fanout.

it will most likely be cymk -- digital. no, this will be printed at a print shop.

my basic concern is how to figure out how the PMS colorchart that i can find online translates to my pantone uncoated fanout guide. im needing a tangible chip i can take to the craft store for other projects. =)

okay, to answer your questions:

online, PMS 313 is a teal / blue -- the pantone process guide i have is for uncoated, anything anywhere near 313 is so not a teal >.<

it will be uncoated paper, cmyk (these are wedding invitations)

the project will be taken to a shop to be processed.

what im hoping to find is a way to get a "translation" if you will from online PMS color to its actual in my pantone fanout. i dont expect an exact match, but id prefer a better method than me just eyeballin it =/ ty!

^ yep

Usually the printer can provide you with the most accurate color match because all printers color profiles are set differently.

Your fanout will give the proper colour for PMS 313. It sounds like your monitor is not calibrated, and giving you an improper colour.
