I recieved a newsletter for a local InDesign user group. I went look on Adobe's web site and found this... http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/usergroups/

Apparently Adobe allows the public to search through groups or have people start their own. I had never heard of this mentioned before.

Now the page says its mainly for former Macromedia products, but scanning through it showed that its open to almost any Adobe product-based group.

Yeah, I searched for a group in my area through that page, and it brought up the Edmonton Flash Users' Group, which I had known about long time ago.

I also noticed that it says for "Web Professionals", and doesn't mention other types of design.

We used to have a local group called the Adobe Community of Edmonton, which was quite good, but it died when merged with the Digital New Media Association of Alberta, which is largely Calgary-based. Edmonton always gets the soiled end of the stick, when it comes to the design community.
