So as some of you know, my camera died while shooting pics at my friends wedding. I was horribly saddened by this because this camera costs me a shit ton of money and it wasn't even 3 years old when it broke. I initially called Sony when it broke and they tried to tell me it would be $200 just to open it, then additional costs after that. Considering my cam is selling on ebay right now for around 300-400 I saw no need to put money back into something broken. I was deeply sore with Sony and the fact of not being able to have a camera was killing me, it seemed now that I didn't have one, I would see some cool shit to shoot but remembered im cameraless.
Soooooo, I started doing some research. I come to find out, that im not the only one with this mysterious breakage (LCD screen looked like waterpainting, so did my pics) turns out Sony used some craptastic cheapo CCD screens for there cameras and called the **** out on it. I came across a class action lawsuit on the web, did some more digging and found out im eligible for my camera to be fixed.
So now im waiting impatiently for the mailing labels to get to me so that I can send the cam back to Sony and have them replace the parts. Im still keeping my fingers crossed cuz its not set in stone, but from the testing I did on the class action suit regarding my camera it looks like the problem they are getting sued for is the exact problem I have. So hopefully in the next month or so, I will be back out shooting at events, and im oh so excited. Thought I would pass on the good news, oh yeah and **** SONY!
