I have used Quicken Home & Business for the past several years to do my finances. I'm the only one in my company and my personal finances sometimes get mixed with my biz finances so it's fairly easy to track using this program. I also like that it helps me with taxes, which I do myself as well using Intuit online. However, everybody that I talk to seems to love using Quickbooks. I'm not sure if I should switch over. Is there any advantage to using Quickbooks vs. Quicken Business? Or is there a better option out there yet still? I'd love to have a time tracking feature in one of these programs. I currently use an open source project for that (Task Coach) and it works well but it doesn't "mesh" with either program.

As long as you're a sole proprietor (especially working solo with no employees) there's no great benefit to switching to Quickbooks. When you grow the business to the point where you have to set up more bank accounts, you can make the transition pretty easily.

As far as time billing, you would probably do best to google <"time billing" +quicken> and variations, and see what bubbles up. There are plenty of good contact managers, like Act!, but I don't know about their interaction with Quicken/Quickbooks. The Intuit people might be able to point you to a compatible program, too, if you enquire.

I use quickbooks and sadly it does not have a time tracking feature. They offer one as a service for $10 a month. Bastids!
