Being that it's September 1st... where are we at?

Are we going to be able to have these in time for Christmas... I only ask because I was planning on them as gifts for a few people. I hate shopping :D

Anyone that hasn't yet sent through their designs please do so asap!

Hehe... brainwaves have been attuned! Anyone notice that no one mentioned exactly what this thread was about, yet everyone knows?

What can I do to facilitate?

Buda, do you have all the designs at this point or are we missing weeks? Also, has a vendor been pinned down for printing the thing? I'm thinking we really do need to get this in motion very soon in time for the holidays. I'm happy to help in any way that I can to facilitate getting this completed.

At this point, the obstacle seems to perhaps be financing for getting the printing done, are there any hard costs figured out for printing, and if so, is it something that perhaps each of the contributors could chip in for to at least get the thing printed? Perhaps if all 52 contributors chipped in, that would take care of the hard cost? Drazan, can you help with possibly setting up a Paypal account to facilitate that?

Buda, feel free to PM me with any issues that I might be able to assist with. :) I know you were on point with this one, so I don't want to step on your toes in case you've got things set in motion, then again, sometimes life gets in the way and that becomes unmanageable, so let me know what I can do to help.

No... in short. I don't even have a bank account and financials here are a complete mess from my bout with cancer. So I can do a lot, be a shipping hub, web guru, ect. But I'm in a position were it's impossible to be a part of the financials.

That's cool, Drazan, understood. I think maybe I'll just set one up myself on behalf of the calendar.

I will be calling some of the local printers tomorrow for a quote on the project, that way we'll have a number to work with and then we'll need to decided how to deal with the finances.

Are we able to do have a preorder section asap to help with the financing? I'll order all my christmas calendar if it can get some money into the bank.

This might seem unreasonable, but how would all you (myself included) who contributed feel about contributing $5 towards the printing? That would net us $260 towards printing.

I wouldn't make it a requirement or keep a list or anything. Some people might have financial problems that they don't want to discuss on a public forum. I like the idea of setting up a paypal account so people can donate anoynomously, both contributers and other people that didn't have a chance/time to contribute, but still want to help out. Also, preorders would probably go a long way towards printing costs.

I wouldn't mind that either.

On the preorders thing though, I'd be happy to preorder 5 to 10 calendars. That would be bit more than $5 to set us up.

We're going to need to do something to finance these. So first order of busines for me tomorrow at work will be to set up a Paypal account.

Riya, point taken and I agree. I will post back here with the Paypal details tomorrow.

Buda, what can we do to get the pre-order thing in motion, should I start up a thread? I really think we need to get the printing up and running in the next couple of weeks. I do hope I'm not coming across as a bully here, I just think we need to get this going, printing wise.

No, I'm glad you've approached the bull!

I don't know anything about Pay-Pal so let me know if my ideas are wild beyond belief!

Can we set up something where you can choose to give a loan to pay-pal or donate or pre-order to a personal tab (where you can later be reimbursed with printed calendars).

I choose to loan $___ to GDF Calendar (this will be repaid)
I choose to donate $___ to GDF Calendar (this will go to a great cause)
I would like to add $___ to my personal tab for pre-orders which will be reimbursed at a later date to me with printed calendars.

We need to get prices for printing quick smart so that we can figure out the price we are going to sell the calendars for. I think last time we figured that we could sell them for $10US and make a decent profit. Shipping charges will have to be added after this price because we live in such different places.
