I've been having a tough time trying to give myself a logo (using my initials) but these are the best I've gotten so far. I know which one I'm leaning towards, but I'd love to hear what you guys think. Thanks!

I think the bottom right hand design is the most interesting and original.

p.s. you should put letters or numbers next to each one so it's easy for us to comment on them!

Oops, sorry- I can't edit the first post for some reason so here they are numbered....

I too like #6 but would want to see how it looks in solid black first. I'm assuming your logo will be more than just the initials - how will you incorporate your business name with the symbol?

I too, think #6 looks best and would also like to see how it looks in b&w.

#6 gets my vote as well.

#6 looks nice, but what if you had the top end piece of the S lined up with the middle point of the k.. so at least the lines feel like they are somewhat fluent.

Right now i get this feeling you just "slapped" the letters and shapes on without really thinking about placement.

#4 is a perfect example of not caring about your logotype. I can see a tiny little nick in the corner of the s and k. Can you? You should always be aware of little things like this.. the worse feeling is being proud of your work.. printing them on cards, t-shirts w.e you desire.. and BAM you have a leak :O

I get the idea you slapped the letters together without really thinking of an idea but, we've all been there.

I'd get off the computer and truly think about what you want your mark to say about you. This says I know how to take my initials and place them next to each other on a computer screen… not much more.

actually I sketched for a while. i didn't just slap letters together. and yes, we were required to use our initials for our logo.

I think you are on the right path. However cd an tz are right the letters look like they were just slapped on. Try switching over to b&w and play with the placement and font.

Maybe something like this then to better tie together the two forms into a unified whole?

It looks to me like number 6 has the most promise to be working on too. You're lucky to have an S to work with in your initials. I'd look at playing witha few different ways of intertwining the letters somehow...

IMO, 5 & 6 both are ok for me...

My c&c,
first thing your logo is not even. what I mean by this is if you stand your logo on a flat table it will tilt and fall over on the word 'k' side. You need to have a even weight on both sides of the logo.
I took number 4 as an example and slaped out an example of how it should be to say even.

the backwards 's' read as an 'a' to me at first glance

Yeah, at a glance I'm reading ask on that one.

I like #6 with a little tweeking.

Yeah i liked the backwards S but didn't want it to be read as an A or Z. I am definitely working on tweeking #6 for now. Thanks for the help so far!

I think #6 could be great with a little more tweaking

Yeah, #6 all the way.

I think it would look good in black, too. I would use 100% in place of blue, and 50% in place of green.

#6 is an eye-catching design - and I can see it working quite effectively as a b/w or one color. I do agree with cdnewell - the 's' needs to be integrated into the design a bit more. It looks as if it's just kind of hanging there.

I played more with the orientation between the letters and here are the best combinations I got. Btw, 1 and 2 are the same and 6 and 7 are the same, they are just b/w versions since many of you suggested that.

I really like what's happening with the No. 1 and No. 2 concepts.

Maybe see if you can manipulate the leg of the K to align with the top curve of the s on #1.

Do the boxes have a conceptual purpose?

Maybe I'm just into the number 6 but once again, I find number 6 sexy.

Those were my votes, too. It looks really good. now you've got a smooth transition and integration of lines between the S and the K.

Thumbs up!

i like the alignment of number 1 but the lack of background in number 6

I can even see using #2 and #6 together.

I really like number 6 too - and I actually prefer it in one colour, not the two colour versions you have.

I'm fond of #6 as well... the problem with #3 is the black seems to make it too harsh.

however, #3 is more readable in direct sunlight, which is an issue I have been contemplating with my design - that our own designs(ie- light bright color pallete, don't work so well in the sun..)

http://www.shsu.edu/~smk006 (http://www.shsu.edu/%7Esmk006) (look for the design/layout- working on the pages now)

That is the site that goes with the logo design. I tweaked logo 2. I still like 7 but don't feel it is as full as 2....
