So, I love using the ctrl+Click on a graphic and it automatically highlighting that specific graphic in the layers palette. Makes for a great way to just choose stuff and move it around without hunting it down in the layers pallette.

HOWEVER....

when you ctrl+Click on a graphic that is in a layer set (ie folder) it automatically highlites the folder and not the layer inside of it. on this project im working on (a map of baja 1000) I have little circles representing each town. there are probably 50-100 of these. does anyone know of a way to click on one of these circles and have it auto highlite in my layers palette even though its in a set?

im hoping its just ctrl+(insert shortcut here) + click..... this is bugging me big time, anyone got any help?

ok, well i figured out a workaround. right clicking on the graphic then highliting it in the popup menu. works for now.

also, since im on the subject of how much PS CS3 sucks. anyone notice they took out "curves" wtf is that about, how can you have Photoshop without curves? im baffled. oh yeah, and non-collapsing palettes in cs 3 is no bueno for me either.

i think its about time adobe steps up and stops releasing new software until they fix the bugs in there old stuff first. I still have daily crashes on photoshop and illustrator. grrrrrrrrrrrrr adobe, you suck

WHAAAAAT??? No curves? How is that possible? Is there a similar control they have substituted?

If your having crashes, trash your preferences. That helps me with my issues until they build up again!

My CS3 has curves (??) ... cmnd-m or ctrl-m for PCs.

Good to know about the first workaround, D-Frag, that's been an annoyance for me as well (the layer set thing), as I'm a frequent user of command-click (me on a Mac) to select a layer.

The curves thing is weird, that just can't be right.

You could temporarily turn on the direct selection button (top left somewhere I think), which selects whatever you click on in your image as the active layer (can get a bit annoying though and I'm not sure if it works in sets).
