when i do a collect for output it goes about halfway and i get an error -43 file not found. I know this is an image problem because when i do a collect for output i select the pictures only to be collected. If an image is corrupt how would i know? Any ideas? Ive been able to make pdfs just fine from ps files. thanks for your help in advance. Ive already sent the pdfs to the printer but i really need to archive these files.

Probably a dumb question but did you check under Usage that all the image paths are updated and valid? Did some images get moved around recently, or resaved with a different name?
That's the only thing I can think might cause your "file not found" error. Good luck!

I found the issue...
All files were linked correctly and updated. However some of the images were old Quark EPS Files. These caused Quark to crash. To fix this...
Place (do not open) the quark eps file in illustrator or photoshop and resave as your desired type of file
