Need Illy help

I know how to cut objects using the pathfinder tool - like cutting a circle shape out of the center of a square. But how would I go about cutting a brush stroke out of the shape? I created the brush stroke and turned it into an object by going Object>Expand Appearance, but I still couldn't cut the brush shape out of the object.

Can anyone help?

Once it is expanded you just grab the outline of the brish shape and your other shape (the one your cutting into) and "divide" them. That's all there is too it... :confused:

When you expand a brush, the stroke is still there. You need to remove it then you can work with what's left.
