Since we upgraded to CS3, I've noticed that Acrobat 8 Professional is an attention whore.

About 10 seconds after doing the Reduce File Size thing, closing the pdf file and moving on to another program, the Acrobat icon starts jumping up and down in the dock as if the program ran into some kind of issue and needs to warn me of something. I click on it, and nothing. No warning dialog box, no file open, nothing. Just the Acrobat menu options at the top. It's like it really liked that I was using it, got upset when I finished and just wanted to say "Hi, I miss you. Give me love."

WTF??

I get that too. A while ago I investigated it a bit on the net and found out it's
a coding snafu. There's a bad line of code in Acrobat 8 that doesn't jive
with Unix. As far as I know there isn't a plan to fix it. You're the first I've seen
mention it that wasn't on a code-head forum or blog, though I don't go to the
Adobe forums much. I just Cmmd + Tab to Acrobat 8 and move along.

I'd have to agree though, WTF?

punch it in the face.
Is that how you tread your whores, DM?

I should punch it, but I might hurt my monitor. It's only an innocent bystander. Though my monitor's starting to go, so maybe it's not such a bad idea. My fist, however, is a different story. I'm not into broken bones.

DT: Well, at least there's a reason for it. I'm just glad I'm not the only one Acrobat begs for attention.
