Hello all!

I had an employee ask me here today if there was any way to increase the contrast in the buttons in the Measurements strip in Quark. That is, making it easier to see if the Bold or Italic is on?

I know in older versions of Quark it was much more of a difference - black and white. Now in the version we use, Quark 6.5, the buttons are more "modern" and glossy, but on the iMacs we use, it is really tough to see the formatting button status.

I looked through Quark's built-in help and saw nothing... and also a Quark reference book we had here... again zip.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I'm hoping that Quark changes that in future upgrades (and also brings back the Ungroup All function which was a big help... I miss it.)

Thanks!
Sarah

The answer to this is to not use the styled versions of the fonts at all. They can cause problems with printer's RIPs, causing the type to default to a substitute (like Courier), or simply obliquing or stroking type when there's an absence of a true bold or italic font.

That annoys me as well.

when I open older or client files sent to me I go straight to utilities/fonts and change them all there (then replace them). Much easier than highlight text, squinting your eyes etc etc.
