I've come across some weird behavior when I print InDesign CS3 tables to a PDF file.
When viewing the PDF in Acrobat, some of the cell strokes appear to be inconsistent weights, but only at 300%, 1600%, 3200% and 6400% zoom. At 400%, 800%, 2400%, and anything below 300%, the problem is gone.
When printing the PDF file to a laser printer, the same thing happens but at different cells that appeared to be fine on the screen. The cells that were affected on the screen printed just fine.
Now, I should mention that this problem is relatively minor. The difference on the screen, or in print, is probably 0.1 pt. From a normal reading distance, you can't see it. Up close it's very noticeable.
This problem is non-existant in InDesign. The same is true when I print from InDesign directly - it looks fine on paper.
Is this something to worry about when I go to press, depending on how the printer works with my files?
